John Macdonald Partner Formerly a police sergeant with over 10 years experience, John jumped ship to become a Solicitor in 1983. Following a period in general practice, John has developed extensive knowledge of Criminal Law, on which he now focuses primarily. Lesley Macdonald Partner Lesley heads RSB macdonald's Family Law Team from our Office at 4 Whitehall Street, Dundee. She has provided specialist advice in this area for 30 years. Lesley is a member of the Family Law Association and a past Dean of the Faculty of Solicitors in Dundee. Derek Duncan Partner Derek heads our Property Department from our Offices at 17 and 19 Crichton Street, Dundee. Derek deals with all aspects of residential and commercial property including the sale and purchase of hotels and licensed premises and sales arising from insolvencies. A solicitor for longer than he likes to admit, Derek is also a Board Member of Tayside Solicitors Property Centre. Derek is supported by his experienced Personal Assistant Lynda Thomas. Maureen Collison Partner Maureen specialises in Property Law, with an emphasis on commercial based transactions. She is widely experienced in dealing with purchases, sales and leases, but is perhaps best known for her expertise in acting for private and commercial builders and developers. Maureen is an active member of Soroptimist International. Based in our Office at 17 Crichton Street, Dundee, Maureen is assisted by commercial conveyancing paralegal, Alison Smith, and personal assistant, Gillian Douglas. Angela Morrison Partner Angela Morrison is a residential conveyancing solicitor with a particular interest in our Estate Agency Department. Angela heads our Property and Estate Agency Teams from our new Crichton Street Property Office. Angela is responsible for heading the Estate Agency Team with a view to maintaining and improving upon the high quality estate agency service provided by the firm. Duncan Mackinnon Partner Duncan specialises in Child and Family Law, based at 4 Whitehall Street, Dundee. Duncan is the only Dundee solicitor accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Child Law, with his first accreditation in 2003. Duncan deals with Child and Family cases throughout Scotland, both in Court and in Children's Hearings. Duncan is assisted by solicitor Alison Morris, and Personal Assistant, Lynn Mackinnon. Andrew Ritchie Andrew has been a qualified solicitor for over 20 years, having graduated from Edinburgh in 1986. He continued to practice in that city for some years before returning to his home town of Dundee in 1991, since when he has gained considerable experience in all aspects of Chamber work. Alasdair Taylor Associate Alasdair Taylor joined us recently to head up our Civil and Commercial Litigation team, following Gregor Murray's departure to the North East of Scotland to be a Sheriff. Alasdair is a graduate of Aberdeen University and has been fully qualified since 1990. He has a wide experience of civil and commercial litigation both in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session. Alison Morris Solicitor Alison has worked with Lesley Macdonald as her personal assistant from 1991. She embarked on a law degree course at the University of Dundee. Alison graduated in 2007 and undertook the Diploma in Legal Practice thereafter. She began her traineeship with the firm in May, 2008 and qualified as a solicitor in 2010. Brian Main Property Manager Property Manager, Brian Main, is a fully qualified property sales negotiator and valuer, having achieved accreditation from the Solicitors Property Centre Scotland. Brian joined Macdonald Garvie in 1996 and within two years forged a career in the firms' Estate Agency department. Since the amalgamation of Macdonald Garvie and Rollo, Steven & Bond to form RSB macdonald in 2002, Brian has acquired a wealth of experience in the local housing market. Brian is responsible for assisting clients throughout the marketing process and his expertise is invaluable at the initial stage when he provides a pre-sale valuation, cost comparisons and advice regarding marketing strategies. Brian is hugely enthusiastic and takes a keen interest in the future development of the Estate Agency Department. He has been instrumental in the introduction of our online virtual tours and shop front digital video displays and continues to develop innovative ideas to improve our estate agency service. Alasdair Wannan Claims Executive Alasdair heads our Compensation Team, based in our Office at 4 Whitehall Street, Dundee. Gillian Petrie Sales Negotiator A member of RSB macdonald's Property Team, sales negotiator, Gillian Petrie, joined the firm in 2005 after working for 14 years in the financial services industry. In addition to negotiating sales, Gillian keeps in contact with potential purchasers, actively follows up viewings and keeps clients fully informed of progress with their sale.
